A private pilot certificate allows you to fly an airplane (Fixed Wing), carry passengers or property and share the operating expenses. You are not allowed to fly for compensation or hire. Private pilot’s have the opportunity to fly for pleasure literally across Botswana. For those who are career oriented, the Private Pilot certificate is the first step in your flying career. For those who just want to learn to fly for the enjoyment of flight; this course is suited specifically for you!

What is a private pilot certificate (PPL License)?
Curriculum
The Private Pilot Certification Training Course follows the curriculum outline in PPL and consists of a minimum of 40 hours of flight training in a Cessna 172. The CAAB mandates a minimum of 40 hours of flight time but most customers/students will require more time. MBAC recommends 50 Hours minimum unless on the ecommendation of the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) a student ready to test.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Table above assumes 50 flying hours. Additional hours will be charged for at the hourly rate.
Exam re-writes will be for the students account.
A signed training contract is required before the commencement of any training.
All fees are payable in advance,. No training will commence before full payment is received.
No Certificate / Licences will be issued until all outstanding accounts have been settled in full.

Enrollment Requirements
- Minimum age is 17 years old.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must pass a class 2 medical examination.
- Good grades in English & Maths is a plus.
